Logistics

FLIGHTS

INBOUND

  • Check In: 6:15 am to 6:45 am
    A valid photo ID must be presented to the check-in clerk, as required by federal regulation. Boarding will be denied without it.
  • Plane departure: 7:00 am
  • Plane arrival: 9:00 am
MANDATORY

Show an identification card (Valid ID with photo) to the check-in clerk and make sure your personal name tag is on each of your luggage. You will receive your room key upon your arrival.

  • One (1) checked bag
    (first-time travelers or temporary contractors are allowed 2)
  • One (1) carry-on bag
  • One (1) personal item (backpack or purse)

* Checked baggage cannot exceed 40 pounds

MUST HAVE
  • Prescription and over-the-counter medications (e.g., cold and flu remedies, Tylenol, Advil) for your rotation period plus one additional week
  • Towel, washcloth, shower mat, shower shoes, and personal toiletries (e.g., shampoo, body wash, chap stick, toothbrush, hand soap, feminine hygiene products) – bring enough personal toiletries for your rotation period plus one week
  • Seasonally appropriate and comfortable clothing for under your PPE/work clothes
  • Reusable water bottles, coffee mugs, thermos for hot soup to go (cafeteria dishes must not be removed)
  • Indoor shoes and casual clothing are mandatory for common areas; work attire is strictly prohibited in areas such as the recreational room, the fitness center, and the cafeteria
  • Gym clothes
  • Health card
  • Alarm clock
  • Phone charger

NOTE: There is no commissary currently onsite.

CARRY-ON POLICY
  • You need to have proper carry-on dimensions
  • Your carry-on bag must be stored under the seat.
  • Only clothing items are allowed in the overhead bins

Camp Arrival:

  • Buses will transport travelers from the plane to the camp’s main entrance
  • FIRST-TIME EMPLOYEES:
    A site representative will greet you at the main entrance where you will be directed to the Main Boardroom for your initial site orientation.
FLY-OUT PROCEDURE

Check-out time: Check-out is available at 4:30 pm the night before travel for night shift employees and between 5:00 am and 6:00 pm for day shift employees. Camp keys must be turned in at check-in.
Location: Luggage drop off/pick up location near the medical clinic

Short will be accepted in gym facilities only. Sandals will be accepted only when used in dormitories to go to and return from washrooms.

Clothing Policy

All passengers must wear appropriate seasonal attire prior to boarding. Failure to comply will result in denied access to the aircraft.

Life at Camp

ZERO TOLERANCE

Hope Bay is designated as a dry camp. The possession, consumption, or use of drugs or alcohol, as well as being under the influence of such substances, is strictly prohibited. Any violation of this policy may result in immediate dismissal.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

  • The Medical Clinic is available 24/7 for emergencies and offers care and support for work-related and urgent personal health concerns.
  • All medication should be in their original containers and properly identified

  • Access to a gym and recreation room with musical instruments, board games, pool table, and more
  • Country food kitchen
  • Washing machines (detergent provided)
  • No personal appliances such as coffee maker, toaster, hot plate, microwave, or any cooking devices are permissible in camp rooms
  • No plug-in oil diffuser or air fresheners, candle wax warmer, burner, open flame, or other items that pose a fire hazard
  • Noise levels in the wings must be kept to a minimum at all times.
