The employee should always depart from their assigned transportation base, which is not changeable. Exceptional transportation base change requests may be approved as long as a minimum notice of 7 days is given

  • The distance from the employee’s home to the closest transportation base is based on Google Map calculations.
  • Hourly employees will receive a premium allocation based on the distance they travel between their home and transportation base. The Late Arrival Policy may apply.
  • Salaried employees will be reimbursed for their traveling fees based on distance between their home and travel base (gas based on kilometer, hotel room, parking, meal) up to a certain amount. The Late Arrival Policy may apply.
  • For specific reimbursement/allocation/distance details, consult the Transportation Policy document.
  • Employees who self-book commercial flights to travel home must always book their commercial flight at least three (3) hours after normal landing time at their regular transportation base. This time window must be followed for the Late Arrival Policy to apply.
