This guide contains essential information to ensure that you are prepared for your trip to Val-d’Or or to Mirabel. Please read through to the end of the document. If you require more information, contact your supervisor.

  • Mirabel check-in opens at 5:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 a.m.

  • There is no specific check-in time in Val-d’Or. It can vary depending of multiple factors but it is always in the late afternoon. You must refer to the Flight Aware website (https://www.flightaware.com/) and check the approximatively time of arrival by entering the flight number “NRL943”.
  • You must do your check-in in the afternoon, minimum 30 minutes before the flight arrival to Val-d'Or.

MIRABEL - Nolinor Headquarters

There are designated free parking lots available to all workers during their stay in Val-d’Or. Please request an Agnico Eagle parking sticker at the check-in counter or ask your local IT support.

There is a shuttle service from the P4 and P10 to Agnico Eagle check-in every 15 minutes. There is no shuttle from P2. During cold weather, please feel free to wait in your car. The shuttle will stay parked for 2 minutes. The parking lots are P2, P4 and P10. Only P10 is a secure parking. See maps below.

For employees with card access to the main parking ONLY that will NOT overnight in Val-d’Or.

For employees that WILL overnight in Val-d’Or (includes employees with access card).

Val-d'Or - Airport

A designated free space is dedicated to Agnico’s employees and contractors to park their car during their stay in Mirabel. Press the button on the intercom to open the gate.

Other Information

Shuttle
  • Shuttle is only available to and from the Fairfield Marriott (Dorval) on flight days.
  • It will not wait, therefore, be there 10 minutes prior to shuttle departure.
  • Shuttle departure time is 4:45 a.m. for flights to Val-d'Or.

ZERO TOLERANCE

Drugs and alcohol are prohibited on the flights, and the consequences may lead to immediate dismissal.

Seasonal Travel Delays

Weather conditions such as blizzards, intense fog or caribou migration can impact travel between the Mirabel and Val-d’Or hubs.

For these reasons, we can’t guarantee flights as per schedule and we may have last minute flights cancellations. Agnico Eagle does not take the responsibility to automatically rebook travelers on their commercial flights when these situations occur. In this occurrence, refer to your supervisor for instructions.


Transportation Policy

The Transportation Policy aims to cover eligible employee’s expenses traveling to and from their home and one of the 2 official southern transportation bases, either the Mirabel airport or the Val-d’Or airport.

Contact your Human Resources (HR) team if you don’t have access to Intranet.

Eligible:

  • Agnico Eagle permanent and/or temporary with benefits employees who travel with the Nolinor charter;
  • Exceptionally, Agnico Eagle permanent and/or temporary with benefits employees who travel with the Kivalliq charter when the flight is less expensive than travelling by a southern airport. (E.g. Employee who lives in Iqaluit);
  • Does not apply to AEM employees who are provided with charter transportation to and from their respective community and work site.

Overview:

  • Parking spaces are provided without cost to the employees at Mirabel and Val-d’Or airports.
  • Agnico Eagle pays for the aerial transportation by Nolinor charter between Mirabel and Val-d’Or.
  • For specific reimbursement/allocation/distance details, consult the Transportation Policy document.
